a) Магнетизм, индуктированный в полутвердом железе, который остается после устранения намагничивающего поля, но в дальнейшем постепенно исчезает.
b) Часть судового магнетизма, которая индуктируется, если судно остается на одном курсе в течение длительного времени, и исчезает в течение короткого промежутка времени, если судно изменило свой курс.
